College Bowl Preview & Week 13 thoughts

How fast the College Football season has come and gone, now we got Bowl season to look forward to and there's 35 total, but here are the 10 I'm looking forward to...

10) OUTBACK BOWL (Florida vs. Penn State)- This game features two big-name coaches in JoePa and Urban Meyer. These two teams also had mediocre records this year and tough seasons. Both having an off-year on their programs, I'm taking Florida to win at home.

9) INDEPENDENCE BOWL (Air Force vs. Georgia Tech)- GA Tech was a good program last year, but dropped off a bit and Air Force is getting better. Big thing is that both programs like to run the ball so the game could go by quick. Taking GT to win.

8) GATOR BOWL (Michigan vs. Mississippi State)- Only reason why this game is worth watching and that is because this game could determine the fate for Wolverines coach Rich Rodriguez on how his team fares against this surprising SEC team.

7) LAS VEGAS BOWL (Utah vs. Boise State)- This could be a future Pac-12 matchup and this matchup is a trial run. After losing to Nevada, BSU goes to Vegas to face Utah and both teams combined to win 4 FBS bowls. This is by far one of the better non-BCS bowl matchups this season.

6) CAPITOL ONE BOWL (Alabama vs. Michigan State)- Classic New Year's Day matchup features two teams that should've made a BCS bowl, but were left out. Bama lost to Auburn and Spartans out of mix thanks to conference-team limit in BCS bowls. This is their consolation game and Nick Saban gets to play against his former team.

5) COTTON BOWL (Texas A&M vs. LSU)- The Aggies proved to be a surprising team as the schedule went on, winning the last 6 games, but did not win the Big 12 South. LSU lost to Arkansas last weekend and blew their BCS bid, instead having to travel to face this tough team in Jerryworld.

4) ORANGE BOWL (Virginia Tech vs. Stanford)- VA Tech won their last 11-straight games after losing to BSU and James Madison. Stanford only lost to Oregon. Each team has really good talent, including the Cardinal's QB Andrew Luck, who looks to shine as a chance to grab the attention of NFL talents.

3) ROSE BOWL (Wisconsin vs. TCU)- Besides Auburn & Oregon, TCU is the only other team that hasn't lost this season and they have a tough task against the Big-10 winners, Wisconsin, who had scored 83 points against Indiana and 70 against Northwestern. TCU has a solid defense and could make this a memorable game.

2) SUGAR BOWL (Ohio State vs. Arkansas)- Battle of QBs between OSU's Terrelle Pryor and Arkansas' Ryan Mallett who both looked solid all season. Plus it's another chance for the Buckeyes to beat an SEC team in a bowl game, after losing to Florida & LSU previously.

1) BCS CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (Auburn vs. Oregon)- I really like both of these teams, not gonna lie. Tigers QB Cam Newton likes to throw the ball, while Oregon likes to run it w/ RB LaMichael James. Could be a battle of offenses, but on the other hand, it could be a blowout, well see.


NFL THOUGHTS(WEEK 13)
1) Broncos fired coach Josh McDaniels earlier due to his team's performance record at 3-9 this season. Also the videotaping scandal, filming 49ers practice was also a factor and the team had to go in a different direction. Denver has looked awful all season and this could be a steppign stone to get ready for 2011.

2) Peyton Manning has been awful as well, throwing 11 picks, including 4 against Dallas, 2 of them returning for touchdowns. What is with Manning these last few weeks? I know the colts are having a tough season w/ losses to both Joseph Addai & Dallas Clark, but this team needs to shap up if they want to make a postseason run.

3) Jets didn't even bother to show up tonight against the Pats. This was a big-game for both teams, but Sanchez & company didn't even attend the affair. The defense looked so flat, the offense didn't step up, and special teams couldn't get the job done. The Jets have looked awful for at least the last month, blowing game leads and can't handle the pass-rush offense. If Rex Ryan's team wants to improve, they need to win key road games at Pittsburgh and Chicago, 2 of the last 4 games on the season.
