After a long week of busyness, haven't had time to recap Martinsville. Great race for the most part, dominated by Jimmie Johnson, who nearly led 300 of the 500 laps that were run on the .526 mile paper-clip shaped oval. 10 laps to the finish, Kurt Busch , who ran in the top-5 all race, passed Johnson for the lead and went on to win his first race in 2 and a half years. With that, Kurt Busch became the 6th different driver to win the first 6 races of the 2014 season. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. leads Matt Kenseth by 9 points and Carl Edwards by 10. Remember, if a driver wins a race, they have a 95 percent chance at clinching a playoff spot for the Chase. The series goes to Texas Motor Speedway for Sunday's Duck Commander 500.
FORMULA ONE
Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes dominated last weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix from start to finish, joined by Nico Rosberg & Sebastian Vettel on the podium. Right now, Mercedes is the top team of the series and now resumed action earlier today for the Bahrain Grand Prix. For the first time in the 10-year history of the track, the race will be run under the lights beginning at 11am ET on Sunday.
INDYCAR
After a long hiatus, the IndyCar series resumed last weekend in St. Petersburg. Takuma Sato won the pole and finished 7th. Will Power and Sato combined to lead all but 3 laps in what was a clean, action-packed event. Will Power becomes the 2nd driver (other being Helio Castroneves) to win multiple races on this track. The series is off this weekend, then resumes next weekend on the Streets of Long Beach.
