With all the rain over the weekend in Texas, both the Cup and Nationwide races ran on Monday. The Cup race was really good, especially with a lot of passes during green-flag stints. The lead was changed several times by the Hendrick drivers of Jeff Gordon (led race-high 124 laps), Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Tony Stewart also led 73 laps and his car was good on short runs. The race looked like Gordon's to win except he, Stewart and 7 others including Juan Pablo Montoya and Carl Edwards got caught up in a crash with 17 laps to go. This set up the sprint race to the finish when Denny Hamlin passed Jeff Burton for the lead on the restart and held on to win the Samsung Mobile 500. Johnson finished 2nd and leads Matt Kenseth by 108 points. They next go for a showdown at Talladega, where anything can happen...even the "Big One"
OTHER NOTES
Kyle Busch wins the Nationwide race at Texas for his 5th straight win at the track.
Ryan Hunter-Reay wins the IZOD IndyCar race in Long Beach over Justin Wilson and Will Power. This gives Andretti Autosport their first win since Tony Kanaan won at Richmond in 2008.
