So far the 2014 edition of the Tour de France has been very intriguing and interesting. From the streets of London to the cobblestones of Northern France and the Vosges Mountain regions near Germany, this tour has had ups and downs. First, sprinter Marcel Kittel has won 3 stages, including in London. Fellow sprinter Peter Sagan is once again dominating the Green Jersey (Points) category. The mountains have been tough, but the Alps and Pyrenees will be tougher come starting Friday.
However, the most intriguing part of the tour is the withdrawals of Chris Froome and Alberto Contador. Both Froome and Contador are past winners of the tour and were favorites to win again in 2014. Unforunately, both riders were involved in crashes which resulted in abandonment. Froome in stage 5, Contador stage 10. Right now, Vincenzo Nabali, who has been in yellow jersey now for 7 stages in this year's tour edition, is the favorite to win it all come Paris. However, riders such as Richie Porte, Tejay van Garderen, Andrew Talansky and Michel Kwiatkowsky are going to give Nabali a challenge, especially in the next week in a half.
